This has been on YouTube for a while, but I just came across it today. Automatic Data Processing, Inc. came out with a music video at some point during the 1980s to provide some inspiration to its employees. I am not sure if that worked, but man do we have a video to laugh at today. Check out the hairstyles, the clothing, the office computers, and listen to the cheesy “We Are the World” singalong. Do you think that this video was considered cool at any point in time, let alone inspiring to ADP employees? I don’t know but it really got a good laugh out of me. Enjoy!

Now that I have a young daughter, I am starting to rediscover the television show Sesame Street. Of course, it doesn’t seem as cool to me now as it did back when I was a kid. So I went to YouTube to find some of the classic segments that I remember. I ran across this great video with a kick-ass song to go with it. Have you ever wondered how crayons are made? This segment takes you inside the factory at Crayola (which are made locally in Easton, PA) to show you the ins and outs of a box of crayons. Let me just say that when I visited the “Crayola Factory” last year in Easton with my young cousins I felt like I’d been duped. It isn’t really the “factory” where they make the crayons, rather a kids’ coloring and activity center that had a few okay exhibits. But since I already knew how they made crayons (because of Sesame Street) it was a pretty big letdown. Enjoy!

I’m really sorry to do this to you. For those of you that were around in the 80s, I’m sure you thought there couldn’t be a song much worse than Wham’s “Wake Me Up Before You Go Go”. Well, take a look at this clip of a woman singing it at karaoke. I am not sure why I enjoy watching clips like this but it gave me a laugh. This is a little different than when I showed Carl Lewis singing the Star-Spangled Banner. He wasn’t the worst singer, he was just a little ambitious in his attempt to sing that song. This lady just can’t sing at all. At the end, she blamed the “crappy song”. Whatever makes you feel better. Enjoy (or something like that)!!

I used to love the show The State on MTV. Great sketch comedy from the mid-nineties. When the show ended, several of the members went on to other projects, such as Viva Variety and Reno 911! And the two Michaels have a new show on Comedy Central. Just in time for… the State DVD release! That’s right, the complete series is finally out on DVD… why did it take so long? Well, apparently they needed to redub a lot of the skits to take out the licensed songs that aired in the original episodes. Whatever, it’s still hilarious stuff, right? Take this clip for example. Chicken sandwich Carl!

If you’ve ever wanted to see a video that captures most of the major baseball bloopers in recent memory, this one does a pretty good job. Sure, you’ll see Randy Johnson hitting a bird with a fastball, minor league managers who cover home plate with dirt and rip third base out of the ground, and of course, the ball that went through Bill Buckner’s legs in the World Series. But there’s also a few that I have never seen before, like the Detroit player that got hit in the groin area with a pitch. Take a look and enjoy. No matter how badly your favorite team is doing now, this should at least put a smile on your face.

I enjoy the work of New York comedian Todd Barry. His sarcastic style is just my kind of humor. I guess his monotone delivery doesn’t do it for some people, but I think it’s pretty funny. I found a clip on YouTube of Todd doing a show in Australia, it’s a really short clip; just check it out. I especially like the joke about being an Aires. He’s been on Comedy Central and he’s even appeared on Sesame Street, and he has a few albums out. If you enjoy this you will probably like his other stuff, I highly recommend it. Enjoy!

Well, I’m sure I’ve mentioned I’m a big baseball fan and my team is the Philadelphia Phillies. The death of legendary broadcaster Harry Kalas a week ago today hit all of us hard. I have been looking on YouTube and finding all kinds of classic Harry clips. Then I found one that was quite different. It was taken from a Q&A session last year with Harry called Phillies Baseball 101. Perhaps it is for new baseball fans? Here we see a very candid and down-to-earth Harry Kalas. I am pretty sure this is how he was his whole life.

I have that crazy song from the McDonald’s Filet O Fish commercial in my head. The commercial has become somewhat of a cult classic, with shows like Rachael Ray talking about it. The song is somewhat catchy and definitely funny, but now how do I stop thinking about it? Here it is:

Have you seen the show on the Style Network called The Dish? It is hosted by Danielle Fishel, better known as Topanga from Boy Meets World. In my opinion it is a show in a similar style to The Soup, the main difference being that it’s not funny. Fishel is not really a comedian, so even if the commentary should be funny, her delivery pretty much ruins it. Because of this, most of the humor comes from the clips themselves. Below I have included a clip from the show where they discuss an infomercial for a ridiculous product called Bump-Its.

Everybody has commercials they can’t stand. As we get closer to the Super Bowl I am sure there will be even more that really get on my nerves. A few months ago we had the “Saved By Zero” Toyota commercials. Most commercials that feature a jingle can get old really quickly. An example that comes to mind is Subway’s song about 5 dollar footlongs. Speaking of sandwiches, remember that Quizno’s commercial a while back that had a lady with a really annoying laugh raving about the Quizno’s sandwich and how it wasn’t “lacking any meat”? I have found that commercial for those of you who haven’t seen it. How about you? What are some commercials that make you want to throw the TV out the window?
