NHL season kicks off in Prague
NHL hockey is back for every team as of last night, but it actually kicked off over a week ago. The league decided to open up the season overseas, as they featured the New York Rangers and the Tampa Bay Lightning for two games in Prague, Czech Republic. It was the second straight year the NHL started off its season in Europe, and it is expected that there will be more games outside of North America in the next few years. The Rangers defeated the Lightning in both of the Prague contests, and to prove that there were no ill effects from the long flight there and back, the Rangers have continued to win and have started off the 2008-09 campaign with a sizzling 4-0 record.
