Music Review: O.L.D. – I Live in a World

Published by zlobe at 6:48 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

The opening lyrics of the new album from the band O.L.D. are “Everybody’s bitch” repeated over and over. So begins the song of the same name, a medium-tempo rock number. It’s a solid start to the album I Live in a World. Craig Elkins has had a lower profile since Huffamoose broke up in 2000. He did a solo album under the name Craig Craigstofferson a couple of years ago. But I Live in a World was very enjoyable for me. The band, which also includes Larry Chaye De Gasperin, plays straightforward rock for the most part. But Craig’s stream-of-consciousness lyrics are really interesting as well. They are quite personal and contain lots of profanity and a few references to masturbation. My favorite tracks are “The Cookie Song”, “Lost Soul”, and “It’s All Good Baby”. The album is available on iTunes and CDBaby. Check out the website http://www.oldtheband.com to find out more.
