Beat It
This may have been made in 1982, but it is still one of the most innovative and best music videos of all time. Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” set a lofty standard for all of his future videos to live up to. The video featured actual members of the Bloods and Crips and had a rough edge about it. But it also had some great choreography and an interesting concept for a video. Of course, the song is great to begin with, with its famous bassline and guitar solo by Eddie Van Halen. The things I will always remember about this video are gang members crawling out of manholes and Michael dancing around pool tables in a red jacket.
